What is used instead

The games save your best scores using local storage, which is a different mechanism with a different job. A cookie is sent back to a server with every request; local storage is never sent anywhere. It sits in your browser, it is readable only by pages on this same domain, and it holds a score, a short label and a date.

Because it is not a cookie, it is not covered by the cookie rules that require a consent banner. It is covered by the privacy policy, which is the honest place to read about it.

Clearing it

Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes every saved score. So does private or incognito browsing, which starts with empty storage and throws it away when the window closes — that is why a best score set in a private window is not there the next time.

Third-party requests

The fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, and that request is the one thing on any page here that goes to another company. It sets no cookie of its own on this site, but it does see your IP address, as any external resource would. The site works without it if you block it.
